Ireland confirmed medical report of injured player against Colombia

The European team withdrew after their star Denise O’Sullivan suffered a serious foul.

The Colombian Women’s National Team played a friendly match against Ireland this Friday, July 14 in Australia, in preparation for the World Cup debut against South Korea, but the game barely it was possible to play 20 minutes after a severe injury suffered by the figure of the Europeans, Denise O’Sullivan.

Ireland decided to withdraw from the match and not play the remaining time against Colombia after O’Sullivan was fouled heavily by a Colombian player, who ended up sending her straight to a hospital to be checked.

After the controversial play that ended the game and that unleashed explosive statements by Daniela Caracas against the Irish by treating them as «babies and eating shit», Ireland delivered the first medical report of its top figure, leaving open the possibility of to play the World Cup.

According to the statement from the Irish National Team, Denise O’Sullivan underwent an X-ray and computed tomography, ruling out a fracture in the final result and for now, her player will work with the medical team to be back on the courts.

For now, we will have to wait for the evolution of Denise O’Sullivan and they will wait if she can be there for the debut against Australia, while Colombia will have a second friendly against China before facing South Korea in the World Cup debut.
